Job Description

Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Position

Location: Wilson NC
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12s Nights
Pay: $2238/week

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a hospital in Wilson NC on a travel contract. The ED RN will provide high-quality compassionate care to patients in urgent and emergent situations. The ideal candidate is adaptable calm under pressure and thrives in a fast-paced environment where critical thinking and quick decision-making are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department assessing and prioritizing patient needs in urgent situations.
  • Administer medications treatments and interventions safely and accurately.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes or emergencies.
  • Educate patients and families on care plans discharge instructions and follow-up care.
  • Document patient assessments interventions and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Uphold infection control safety and quality standards in all aspects of care.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid RN license in North Carolina (or compact license).
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
  • Minimum of 1 year recent ED nursing experience (travel experience preferred).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
  • COVID vaccine and recent TB test.
  • Strong communication critical thinking and organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress emergency situations.
