The City of Colorado Springs is ready to welcome an Equipment Operator II to their Public Works Maintenance Operations division! As an Equipment Operator for this team you will perform construction maintenance and repair tasks for the pavement operations team. This includes operating heavy equipment such as asphalt rollers pavers and skid steers to repair streets sidewalks and alleys. This team is also responsible for ensuring job site safety conducting equipment inspections and assisting with project planning and coordination.
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate: Knowledge of:
Basic operation and maintenance requirements of power-driven equipment
Practices methods and materials used in general construction
Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
Safe operation of asphalt pavers milling machines and compaction equipment
Ability to:
Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods
Independently work in the absence of supervision
Minimum Qualifications
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)
Three years of full-time professional experience in related field
Possess or obtain upon hire and maintain a valid non-probationary Colorado drivers license not subject to restrictions
Possess upon hire and maintain a valid non-probationary Colorado Class B CDL not subject to restrictions is required for this position
