Quality Assurance Engineer (Linux / Networking)

Role Overview

We re looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer who has a strong background in Linux or BSD environments with hands-on experience in modern infrastructure tooling. This is not a role for someone who simply runs pre-written test cases you ll be expected to design implement and expand test coverage while working closely with developers to uncover edge cases and ensure product strength.

Responsibilities

• Develop execute and maintain automated and manual test plans for Linux/BSD-based systems.

• Design and implement test cases for complex networking scenarios infrastructure components and protocols.

• Work with Docker Kubernetes and containerized environments to validate scalability and reliability.

• Write scripts and tools in shell scripting and Python to expand testing capabilities.

• Analyze standards specifications and protocols to identify unusual corner cases and create corresponding tests.

• Collaborate with developers and product teams to improve testability reliability and coverage.

• Contribute to continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) testing pipelines.

Qualifications

• 4 years of QA or software testing experience (medium to senior level).

• Strong knowledge of Linux or BSD systems (Windows experience not relevant here).

• Hands-on experience with Docker Kubernetes shell scripting and Python.

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals; experience with DHCP DNS or RADIUS is a plus.

• Ability to create and expand tests not just execute them.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in spotting edge cases.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience in protocol testing or contributing to standards.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins GitLab CI GitHub Actions etc.).

• Previous experience in a networking or infrastructure-focused company.
