Job Description
Job Title: MRI Technologist
Specialty: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Place of work (City/State): San Diego California
Location: 3350 La Jolla Village Dr. San Diego CA 92161
Duration: 1 year contract with possibility of a 4 year extension
Shift Schedule: Monday Sunday between 4:00 AM 11:00 PM
License / Certifications:
- Current and valid Advanced ARRT certification in MRI
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- IV Certification
Education: Not specifically stated but must hold ARRT credentials
Minimum Qualification/Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years full-time work experience in MRI within the last 3 years (training/internships do not count)
- PACS work experience is required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Responsibilities:
- Operate super-conductive MRI equipment to perform imaging of the brain spine chest and extremities
- Explain procedures to patients position them and perform scans using appropriate techniques
- Set up radiographic suites assure availability of sterile supplies and contrast materials
- Prepare and administer contrast material under radiologist supervision
- Archive and send images to PACS post-process images case edit reports
- Maintain patient records using VistA and CPRS systems
- Provide services in accordance with VA policy and Joint Commission standards
- Comply with professional and ethical healthcare practices
