Join our Risk Innovation Team where data meets cutting-edge technology to safeguard BILL and our customers. As an Associate Risk Data Scientist youll play a foundational role in supporting the teams mission to identify analyze and mitigate financial risks crucial to our continued growth. This is an exceptional opportunity to build your skills alongside seasoned experts contribute to meaningful projects and help drive innovation that enhances trust and safety in our platform.
What youll do:
- Develop and deploy machine learning models to detect fraud model transaction risk and improve credit underwriting.
- Analyze and monitor credit portfolios to minimize losses.
- Design experiments to evaluate the impact of data science solutions on user experience.
- Communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders including business partners and executives.
- Proactively identify and address process pain points providing sustainable and impactful solutions.
Wed love to chat if you have:
- Bachelors degree in a technical field such as Statistics Computer Science Economics Mathematics or the Physical Sciences.
- Experience in data analysis and statistical modeling using tools like Python and SQL.
- Understanding of a wide range of machine learning techniques (e.g. clustering classification regression neural networks anomaly detection) and their application to business problems.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and guide projects toward clear actionable business outcomes.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- PLUS: Experience applying data science and analytics to solve risk-related problems.

The estimated base salary range for this role is noted below for our office location in Draper UT. Additionally this role is eligible to participate in BILLs bonus and equity plan. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience expertise and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical dental vision life and disability insurance 401(k) retirement plan flexible spending & health savings account paid holidays paid time off and other company benefits.
