What You Will Do
Do you enjoy power converter design
Do early-career engineers come to you for technical guidance
Do you have a strong desire to work on projects that are critical to the defense of our nation
We are seeking a professional engineer to assume a key role within the System Power Analog and Controls Department.
Design analyze (including thermal considerations) simulate and test power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard non-isolated power conversion topologies (buck boost buck-boost) including modules and discrete designs
Guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation
Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule
Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff
This position is 100% ONSITE in Huntsville Alabama.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelors in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional experience in design analysis simulation and/or test experience with linear converters
Experience with any of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck boost and/or buck-boost
Experience with design analysis and test with analog electronic design and analysis such as FET BJT and/or Op-amp circuits
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
Basic understanding of commonly used power conversion concepts components and techniques and/or motor drive control schemes
Lab experience specific to power electronics and/or controls electronics
Experience with use of software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layoutsuch as Mentor Graphics DxDesigner and/or Hyperlynx SIMPLIS Saber and/or analysis tool Mathcad & LTspice
Ability to document designs and circuit performance verification
Experience with performing circuit card assembly-level power architecture trades and/or with system-level power architecture trades including power converter specification development experience
Design analysis and/or test experience with any of the following isolated converter topologies: flyback half-bridge full-bridge and/or push-pull including stability

Huntsville Location information: salary range for this role is 101000 USD - 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
