The Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is seeking a Temporary Administrative Specialist 1 to join the MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Woodburn. This position plays a central role in supporting campus operations staffing dispatch and intake functions. As the hub of daily operations you will coordinate staff schedules maintain secure records and support youth intake processes while ensuring smooth communication across the facility.
We are looking for someone who is highly organized a strong communicator and able to handle confidential information with care. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a busy environment can quickly prioritize tasks and works well as part of a team. Adaptability focus and professionalism are key as this role supports critical 24/7 operations that impact youth staff and public safety.
Key Responsibilities
Develop maintain and coordinate daily and long-term staff schedules in compliance with policy and collective bargaining agreements.
Monitor sick calls overtime and staffing shortages; take action to address coverage gaps.
Operate facility dispatch including managing radio communications recording counts and supporting emergency response.
Enter and confirm OYA warrants in the Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC).
Support the intake process for youth commits and parole violators including processing paperwork records and fingerprinting.
Maintain accurate records in the Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) and ensure confidentiality of sensitive data.
Provide clerical support and ensure effective workflow within staffing dispatch and intake operations.

Additional Information:
Temporary: This job posting is for temporary positions and does not include the typical benefits available for permanent employees. Temporary employees may be eligible for employee health benefits offered through the Public Employees Benefit Board (PEBB) as outlined in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Temporary assignments will not exceed six months or 1040 hours.

The salary range listed is the non-PERS participating rate. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible the salary range will increase by 6%. Please review the Classification and Compensation page for more details.
This position receives annual increases on the anniversary date until the maximum of the salary range is reached.
