Job Description
IT Network/Infrastructure Internship
What we are looking for:
Gelber Group is looking for a motivated candidate to join its Network and Infrastructure team for summer 2013. We are looking for someone with a graduating year of 2013 or 2014 and a major in CIS MIS CS or related areas. This candidate will work closely with members of the team and other IT and trading groups. Candidates should have an interest or experience with:
- Computer networking (Ethernet TCP/IP LANs WANS etc)
- General computer knowledge
- System engineering (switches routers firewalls servers)
- Various operating systems (Linux Windows etc)
- Network monitoring/management systems and technologies
- Network protocols (PIM OSPF BGP NAT RSTP VPN etc)

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Work well in a group and individually
- Effectively prioritize tasks in high-pressure situations

More on the internship:
The internship will begin with a 2-3 week collaborative classroom session where you will learn the basics of liquid capital markets trading the various ways in which Gelber engages these markets and the tools and technology that link us to the markets. After the classroom you will be working closely with the Network and Infrastructure team to assist in various projects such as developing and supporting tools for monitoring. Gelber Groups internship will give you great hands on experience understanding and learning the latest network technologies in the market and the evolution of networks.
