Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in Speech Therapy or related field.
Must have completed clinical fellowship (CF) experience obtain state licensure and earn certifications.
Experience in evaluating and assessing student needs.
Experience in developing and utilizing augmentative communication devices and techniques.
Job Description
Screen students for possible speech/language impairments upon initial entry to the school and communicate the results to parents.
Evaluate student needs using approved testing instruments and complete speech/language case-study evaluations.
As a member of the IEP complete all necessary paperwork monitor implementation and collaborate with the team.
Develop goals and objectives for individual students and provide speech therapy in accordance with the provisions noted on the IEP.
Plan curriculum and prepare lessons and other instructional materials according to the individual needs of students.
Consult with other school personnel regarding an individual students progress concerns and communication needs.
Develop utilize and train appropriate staff in the use of augmentative communication devices and techniques as necessary for individual students.
Instruct students in multi-modal forms of communication.
Maintain cooperative working relationships with parents staff school district personnel and community service agencies.
