The team and the opportunity

At EY our highly talented and motivated Digital Assurance and Quality Engineering team specializes in Data Transformation and Testing Services for our clients. We offer a comprehensive range of functional testing services including requirements-based testing integration testing system testing regression testing and acceptance testing. Through agile QA and testing practices we enable faster time-to-market flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements along with automation and continuous testing to drive improved efficiencies. Our expertise extends to technical testing services such as test automation API and microservices testing mobile device testing performance testing and ETL testing ensuring quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.

As a Automation Tester by joining the Technology Consulting team you will be helping our clients solve a whole range of challenges - from the requirement to respond to the ever-changing demands of the market to working on large and complex transformation programs that truly transform our clients ways of working As part of this growing team you will also get to help shape the innovative culture that makes EY such a great place to work.

You will play a key role in supporting the development and strengthen existing client relationships and help our clients who are leaders in the Financial Services industry navigate the complex finance issues facing their business. Your key responsibilities

• As an Automation Tester in the Digital Assurance and Quality Engineering Team at EY you will hold a pivotal position within our high-performing team. Your responsibilities will include designs and implements technological processes to automate various tasks leading and aligning with the teams goals and ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes
• Contributing to the delivery of IT Projects through methodologies such as Agile Scrum / Kanban and traditional Waterfall (when required) leveraging your domain knowledge and sector experience
• Creating high-quality work products and act as a subject matter resource on one or more services leveraging knowledge and experience to shape services to client problems
• Understanding all our service offerings and actively identifying opportunities to better serve clients
• Maintaining focus so that projects deliver on key priorities and dependencies
• Be responsible for your own self-development and maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills
• Actively contribute to EYs Quality Assurance & Testing Community of practice
• Understanding all our consulting service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients and be able to build meaningful external relationships with our clients and internal relationships across service lines
• Designing developing and maintaining automated test scripts for API applications
• Collaborating with developers and business analysts to understand requirements and create test plans
• Executing automated tests and analysing results to identify defects and areas for improvement
• Continuously improve the automation framework and testing processes
• Conducting code reviews and providing feedback to enhance test quality
• Report and track defects using Azure DevOps

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have:

• Third level degree preferably in Computer Science or a Business related discipline
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a full-time test automation role
• Previous experience in client-facing consulting roles demonstrating strong communication problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in Agile/ DevOps and/or traditional environments
• Proven experience in building and implementing test frameworks using tooling such as Selenium Cypress Eggplant or UFT
• Experience using Cucumber BDD frameworks
• Experience in mobile test automation using Appium
• Experience in API testing and tools (e.g. Postman and OAuth 2.0).
• Experience of scripting skills with 1 or more of the following languages; C# Java and / or JavaScript
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps)
• Experience with source control tools such as Git
• Develop execute and debug automated tests
• Experience with source control tools such as Git
• Experience of using Test Management tools including issue tracking tools
• Knowledge of Testing Standards and approaches
• Understanding of cloud technologies and services (e.g Azure DevOps Pipelines Boards Test Plans Repos)
• Have a structured approach to problem solving and be a self-starter with the ability to work independently managing your own workload with an attention to detail

Ideally you will also have:

• Professional QA accreditation (ISTQB Foundation ISTQB Test Automation Engineer or similar)
• Experience in one or more of our focus industries including; Power & Utilities Financial Services Government & Public Sector Life Sciences Consumer Goods Tech Media Advanced Manufacturing / Industry 4.0
• Experience of one or more technology areas including but not limited to ERP CRM. Digital Workplace CX Cloud Migration and/or integrations Data & Analytics RPA Emerging Tech IoT Blockchain
