About the Role:

As the Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for designing and building core features of Zeitviews Insights platform that power all of our verticals across the common unified technology this role you will develop and scale backend services APIs and data workflows; optimize performance of shared components; and collaborate with product and AI teams to deliver an AI-first platform that enables seamless insights for customers across wind solar telecom utilities and property assets.

Responsibilities:

• Design develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring.
• Build scalable reliable and secure systems on AWS leveraging cloud-native services.
• Optimize and maintain PostgreSQL databases including schema design and query tuning.
• Actively use AI coding assistants (Copilot Claude Cursor etc.) to accelerate development improve code quality and explore new approaches.
• Write clean maintainable and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in technical design reviews code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning and experimentation.
• Collaborate closely with Product Architecture and Ops teams to deliver high-impact features.
• Continuously improve system performance observability and developer productivity.

Qualifications:

• 10 years of professional software development experience with strong expertise in Java and Spring.
• Deep experience with AWS (e.g. EC2 Lambda RDS S3 API Gateway) and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL (schema design indexing optimization).
• Proven ability to build and scale RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Understands event driven architecture (ActiveMQ or similar).
• Experience with NoSQL production databases (Elasticsearch or similar)
• Daily practitioner of AI-first development comfortable leveraging tools like Copilot Claude Codex or Cursor as part of your workflow.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures algorithms distributed systems design patterns).
• Strong testing mindset (unit integration automation).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills technical judgment and communication abilities.

This position is based in Boston MA. The anticipated salary range for this role is $190000 $220000 USD commensurate with experience and qualifications
