Maintenance Coordinator
Job Description
General Statement of Job:
The job of Maintenance Coordinator is done for the purposes of supervising the maintenance of district physical plants and grounds; ensuring compliance with work order and relevant trade standards; ensuring a safe and secure working environment; providing support to outside contractors and vendors as needed.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct other employees for the purpose of ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe proper and timely manner
- Implement assigned projects (e.g. work order systems permit maintenance inspection schedules etc.)
- Inspect repair work projects equipment work orders etc. for the purpose of insuring that jobs are completed safely efficiently and within local/state/federal regulations
- Participate in meetings and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions
- Estimate labor and materials needed to maintain or develop all aspects of the facilities needs
- Recommend policies procedures and/or actions for the purpose of providing direction for meeting the districts goals and objectives
- Request equipment (e.g. large capital items etc) for the purpose of ensuring proper completion and safety of personnel in completing assigned tasks
- Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns
- Train staff in the proper use of tools and work procedures and instruct employees on safety procedures
- Supervise department functions including but not limited to recommendations planning scheduling coordinating activities training advising consulting etc. for the purpose of ensuring that the department functions in a safe and efficient manner
- Responsible for ensuring all trade personnel are trained in the proper use of all material handling and heavy operating equipment assigned to the section
- Support office staff for business and operations for the purpose of providing assistance with their administrative functions
Additional job Functions or Assigned Tasks:
- Assist other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
Minimum Training and Experience:
- High School Diploma Associates degree preferred
- 3 to 5 years of experience in foreman and/or supervisory position(s)
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred or any equivalent training and experience which provides the required skills knowledge and abilities
Minimum Qualifications or Standards Required to Perform Essential job Functions:
- Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports
- Demonstrate aptitude for the successful completion of tasks
- Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the basic techniques of electrical plumbing HVAC repair and maintenance carpentry and grounds maintenance
- EPA Certification
Other Requirements:
- Maintain an acceptable attendance record and be punctual
