Established in 2025 by Trivest Partners a private equity firm Sentinel was formed through the acquisition of several regional service providers: Lenworth Building Services Pro Door & Dock Systems Mar-Lin Dock & Door Door Doctor and Secord Docks. These companies specialize in the installation repair and maintenance of overhead doors dock levelers and related equipment for commercial and industrial facilities.

Job Title: Commercial Overhead Door & Dock Technician
Location: Ottawa Ontario
Job type: Full-time Monday to Friday 7:30 AM 5:00 PM
Pay: $25$35 per hour (based on experience)
Signing bonus and relocation assistance available for successful candidates residing outside the Ottawa/Eastern Ontario region
About the Role:
As the Commercial Technician you will work closely in partnership with the management and administration team to fulfill service and installation requirements for our commercial clients Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. A comprehensive benefits package is also included. Already working in this industry with an assistant Want to make a move together We would be interested in meeting you both to discuss an opportunity for your assistant as well. Company truck gas card company pays to update your certifications and keep them current. Cell phone provided by Door Doctor.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer service commercial repairs and or installations
Prepares work orders for clients and completes other required reports
Prepare quotations and provide recommendations to clients based on on-site inspections and observations
Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to clients management and administration including current and future service needs repairs and any suggested equipment replacements for door and dock systems
Performs all work in a company provided truck
Works in partnership and communicates with the management and administration in relation to fulfilling service requirements for commercial clients
Performs as an integral part of the client focused team all working together to serve our clients
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a Commercial Overhead Door & Dock Technician
Strong communication skills in person and by phone
Experience as a Lead Technician working alongside an assistant is a plus
Skilled in customer service and relationship management
Proficient with completing reports work orders and job documentation
Technical expertise in:
Overhead door and dock systems
Electric operator installations and repairs
Low-voltage wiring
High-speed doors gate operators and dock equipment
Pedestrian doors (asset)
Comfortable with hand/power tools lifts ladders torches
Welding framing and cladding experience is considered an asset
Valid drivers license required
Able to work independently solve problems and take initiative
Willing to work occasional overtime
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
7:30 am - 5:00 pm
