This role will be based in Mounds View MN.

In this exciting role as a Technical Writing Manager you will have responsibility for leading a team of technical writers that are responsible for the creation development and execution of product labeling for the CRDN and PVH operating units within the Cardiovascular Portfolio. This role combines tactical expertise with strategic leadership to drive efficiency quality compliance and team development in Technical Communications processes.

This role will report to the Senior Director of CV Technical Communications.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Lead team of writers supporting CRDN and PVH Operating Units.
  • Coach mentor and provide strategic input based on business strategies to support direct reports.
  • Collaborate with other CV Tech Comm leaders in providing strategic input into the direction and success of the Cardiovascular Technical Communications organization
  • Educate business partners on the processes roles responsibilities and expertise of the CV Technical Communications team
  • Assist direct reports with establishing clear measurable performance objectives and perform regular evaluations of those objectives
  • Provide direct reports with frequent feedback coaching and development opportunities
  • Partner with marketing geographies clinical legal regulatory affairs packaging and labeling sales force supply chain documentation control translation teams regulatory agencies support of both the CRDN and PVH OUs and business priorities
  • Interview hire and train technical writers.
  • Manage teams project assignments and resource allocation including engagement in 10Q and AOP.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required with a minimum of 5 years of technical medical or scientific writing/communications experience
  • Or Masters degree with a minimum of 3 years of technical medical or scientific writing/communications experience
  • Or PhD with minimum of 3 years of technical medical or scientific writing/communications experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience managing and/or mentoring multiple technical writers
  • Knowledge of Medtronic and its products and processes
  • Experience effectively managing multiple changing priorities
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Desire and ability to drive results by working through others to accomplish objectives
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills includingdemonstrated experience withresource planningtracking multiple complex projects and budgeting
  • Strong attention to detail

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$117600.00 - $176400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
