Overview
The Nursing Informatics Specialist supports the mission vision and strategic priorities of Childrens Mercy and Information Systems. Leading the integration of clinical technologies with practice the Nursing Informatics Specialist supports the interdisciplinary team to attain high quality patient care outcomes. While overseeing clinical technologies the Nursing Informatics Specialist collaborates to support the development of evidence-based patient care practices and provide decision support. The Nursing Informatics Specialist is a liaison to the care delivery team to develop implement and effectively use clinical technologies; collaborating to positively impact patient safety and care quality. The Specialist is a role model for leadership and financial management assuring sound project management.

Responsibilities
- Integrates information systems and clinical technologies with clinical practice to attain high quality patient care outcomes.
- Aligns clinical technologies to provide decision support collaborating on the development of evidence-based patient care practices.
- Collaborates with colleagues on the team and with end-users to support effective use of clinical technologies assure system security and focus on patient care safety and customer service.
- Role models leadership and financial principles to assure sound project management.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree BSN required and 3-5 years experience clinical experience health informatics &/or performance improvement related experience. Beginning leadership experience preferred.
- At least one application-specific Epic certification relevant to the department (determined by role leadership) Required within 120 days of hire. Must complete Epic certification training if not already Epic certified in the most recent version of the Epic EHR product. Tracked by department leadership. Required
- Specialty Certification (Nursing Informatics Nursing Leadership Project Management etc.) Preferred Upon Hire

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $34.21/hr but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
