Job Summary

Overview

Presbyterian is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Lead Pharmacy Procurement Agent to join our team.

Under the supervision of a pharmacist supports Presbyterian Delivery System pharmacy supply chain business operations and 340B compliance through coordination of best practice standardization and cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Pharmacy Tech State of NM
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician-PTCB
  • OR Certified Pharmacy Technician-NHA
  • Five years of experience in pharmacy preferably in pharmacy purchasing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with PHS supply services and external vendors including meeting regularly with representatives to identify cost-savings initiatives new products etc.
  • Support PDS pharmacy purchasers with procurement questions including help with obtaining products from third-party vendors training/filling in when necessary
  • Oversee drug shortages spreadsheet lead regular drug shortages meetings to mitigate shortage impact on business
  • Attend FAST and VAT meetings to facilitate cost-savings initiatives and standardization
  • Partner with operations director to oversee Logistics system list and ensure formulary is adhered to
  • Help coordinate annual physical drug inventories
  • Work closely with 340B team to further develop and maintain standard work for 340B purchasing compliance and optimization
  • Help to develop and maintain direct buy purchasing data
  • Work closely with the DC Pharmacy Manager on centralized purchasing initiatives
  • Conduct audits to assure compliant purchasing practices
  • Support process improvement projects in purchasing workflows
  • Responsible for adherence to Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances
  • Performs other duties as assigned
