American Sign Language Interpreter (Day Shift)
Location: Federal Way WA 98003
Duration: 40 weeks
Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 32 40 hours per week
Pay: (Negotiable based on experience)
Responsibilities:
- Accurately interpret spoken English into ASL and ASL into spoken English.
- Provide interpreting services in classrooms assemblies meetings and school-related activities.
- Support student understanding and participation in educational settings.
- Collaborate with educators and staff to ensure effective communication.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards.
- Modify interpreting techniques based on student needs and educational goals.
- Adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct set by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Certification through equivalent (required).
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and English.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of professional ASL interpreting experience. (Required)
- Experience in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of Deaf culture and interpreting protocols.
