Job Summary

American Sign Language Interpreter (Day Shift)

Location: Federal Way WA 98003

Duration: 40 weeks

Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 32 40 hours per week

Pay: (Negotiable based on experience)

Responsibilities:

Accurately interpret spoken English into ASL and ASL into spoken English.
Provide interpreting services in classrooms assemblies meetings and school-related activities.
Support student understanding and participation in educational settings.
Collaborate with educators and staff to ensure effective communication.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards.
Modify interpreting techniques based on student needs and educational goals.
Adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct set by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Certification through equivalent (required).
Proficiency in American Sign Language and English.
Minimum 1 to 2 years of professional ASL interpreting experience. (Required)
Experience in an educational setting.
Knowledge of Deaf culture and interpreting protocols.
