Cloud Strategist - Senior

Description

To respond to the priorities of the Government of Ontario through the passage of the Bill 5 Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act 2025 the resource may be partially assigned to Bill 5 related projects or initiatives on an as needed basis.

To manage Technology platforms and the Clusters IT projects for Fiscal 2025/26 the Technology Service Operations (TSO) Branch of LRC must compliment through the FFS-VOR. LRC needs to ensure that carry-over projects for 2024/25 can continue into the next fiscal year while also supporting new projects identified through operational planning.

The FFS resource will focus on the LRC Technology Roadmap which is a living set of collaterals and practices that guides the life cycles of the technologies used to support Ministry Programs. It is complementary to the OPS Target State Architecture (TSA) that has been developed for technology and data by providing additional information and aids in and supports solutioning option decisions staffing strategies demand and capacity planning technology risk management investment efficiencies delivery velocity etc. This role will be responsible for assessing the current as is state of prioritized LRC applications to determine a strategic to be state in Cloud.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Responsibilities

Plan any necessary changes for cloud migration or cloud use

Cloud Migration Experience - 50%

Experience developingimplementing enterprise cloud migration strategies utilizing Microsoft Azure.

Experience and knowledge of enterprise security requirements. Experience applying government IT standards (either OPS Standards or other federal andor provincial equivalents).

Experience with creating cloud migration strategies defining delivery architecture creating the migration architecture designing the orchestration plans etc.

Experience in creating and executing migration run books

Experience to provide support to ensure that the appropriate level of change management is measured and evaluated

Experience planning and guiding an organization in the various stages of using or migrating to cloud services

Experience scrutinizing existing client environments & recommend solutions that enable a to-be cloud vision

Experience assisting with sound practices in cloud brokerage and technical application management

Supporting the crafting of cloud strategies using IaaS PaaS and SaaS with the ability to analyze and synthesize analysis of alternatives

Conducting financial and ROI analysis of infrastructure operations and management costs

Acting as Cloud SME in the implementation of large medium and small cloud projects

Providing hands-on support of mission areas in the rationalization and cloud readiness assessment of existing applications

Communication and Leadership Skills - 25%

Experience creating high quality client facing assets targeting Cloud solutions and present them to key stakeholders.

Experience developing & designing architecture roadmaps implement strategies & transformation plans for clients to migrate to cloud.

Working with stakeholders to embed an agile cloud-native process in all cloud acquisitions to enable the agency to quickly and effectively harness the power of cloud computing
