Job Description:
The Senior Communications Specialist shall assist in developing updating and publishing program/organizational materials design and distribute them for internal and external audiences. Assists in maintaining a vibrant and active social media presence on selected platforms to create a substantial online presence. Assists in maintaining the program and organizational websites so they remain compelling and current assists in developing communications plans and manages internal program/organizational communications supports media relations efforts including development and distribution of story ideas press releases and media interviews. Assists in responding appropriately to media inquiries which may include developing key talking points for the leadership team and supports writing/tracking/reporting for grants.
Education/Experience: Must have a bachelors degree in mass-communications business or related field and at least eight (8) years specialized experience; or ten (10) years general experience. General experience is experience gained in an office setting. Specialized experience must include at least three (3) years in communication and analysis experience and two (2) years of specialized experience in supporting the messaging of complex business functions or programs and providing challenging and professional deliverables products and services on multiple social media and communications platforms.
