Requirements
- BS or Masters or Ph.D. degree inmechanical or metallurgical or welding engineering from an accrediteduniversity required (the advanced degree requirement can be waived ifapplicant has 10 years of experience with a pipeline company)
- Must have practical in-depthtechnical knowledge from experience with an operating company
- A working knowledge of constructionpractices materials manufacturing/fabrication methods and energy industry standards that are applicable to the equipment and systems usedin the transportation of crude oil and natural gas via pipelines
- Experience at a major oil company oroperating pipeline company or a consulting firm working on pipelines ismandatory
- 10 years continuous employment as apracticing engineer preferred
- Registered professional engineer(P.E.) or possess the ability to become registered
- Must have a detailed workingknowledge of applicable codes and industry standards such as API 5L ASMEBPVC Sections VIII & ASME B31.4/31.8
- Must be willing and able to travel onoccasion and work in a variety of environments including pipelineright-of-ways and manufacturing facilities. Travel could be worldwide andthe applicant must have or be able to obtain a passport withoutrestrictions.
Responsibilities
- Seeking an engineer with experiencein mechanics and materials for our growing Pipeline practice. The practiceprovides engineering support to pipeline companies around the world thatinclude integrity management assessments materials selectionfabrication welding full-scale testing pipeline repair consultationand failure analysis. We serve the major gas and liquid pipelineoperators.
- Additionally the experienced candidatewill be expected to develop relationships with clients in order to buildan independent successful consulting practice. This includes participatingin industry groups attending trade shows and conferences and writing/presenting technical papers. This position will interface with clientsprepare technical proposals and reports and work either individually oron a team.
- The Client is a large highlyregarded and long established consulting company that is employee has very low turnover.
