Basic Job Functions:
The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for leading the safety sustainability and environmental compliance at the division. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining compliance with all safety and environmental requirements implementation and management of environmental programs (air water waste radiation) including permitting and reporting. This individual will also play an integral role in the education and training of the team engaging with the plant wide team for solutions to problems and promote continual improvement and participate in community outreach initiatives. Nucor teammates are expected to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork while maintaining compliance in all areas. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors of Engineering and or Science
Preferred Qualifications:
Industrial consulting or regulator experience in environmental compliance permitting reporting
Experience with PC PLC PID control and visual programming
Industrial instrumentation and automation
Experience with Title V and or NPDES permitting
Experience in air pollution control water treatment operations hazardous waste and radiation
ISO 14001 or related management system knowledge and audit experience
Experience related to manufacturing or industrial environment
RCRA waste generation storage and proper disposal knowledge
Project management experience
Geographically mobile for current or future career opportunities
