Job Summary
Colorado Academy is seeking a compassionate reliable and collaborative Assistant Teacher to support the Infant Classroom (ages 318 months). This position offers the opportunity to nurture and care for our youngest learners in a safe loving and play-based environment where educators honor each childs earliest milestones and development.
The Infant Assistant Teacher works as part of a three-teacher team in a responsive and nurturing school environment. This role supports daily caregiving routines fosters secure attachments and helps maintain a safe nurturing and engaging classroom environment. Daily responsibilities include active supervision of infants indoors and outdoors participation in floor play diapering classroom cleaning and organization tasks and supporting developmental experiences with infants. This is a year-round position in a fully-licensed early childhood program.
- Partner with lead and mentor teachers to provide consistent responsive care for infants
- Support daily caregiving routines including feeding diapering napping and transitions with attentiveness and warmth
- Engage infants in floor play music sensory exploration and early social interactions
- Foster infants emotional security and emerging developmental skills through gentle responsive interactions
- Maintain classroom safety cleanliness and organization in alignment with health licensing and school standards
- Document and share daily updates and observations with families to build trust and connection
- Participate in team planning reflective practice and ongoing professional development
- Adhere to all school policies including confidentiality child protection and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Colorado Shines Credential (or willingness to obtain)
- Prior experience working with infants or young children in a group setting
- Familiarity with child development principles and best practices for infant care
- Gentle patient and responsive approach to caregiving
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependability
- Commitment to ongoing learning
Physical Requirements
- Regular lifting of up to 25 pounds carrying of children and classroom materials
- Routinely bending crawling and sitting

The pay for this position is $21.90 - $22.60 per hour. Although this is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex gender or gender identity but relates solely to a seniority system a merit system or relevant education training and/or experience. Medical Dental Vision and Life Insurance benefit programs are available as is a 403(b) retirement plan. Eligibility for all benefit programs is defined by the applicable plan document.
