About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Project Manager Transformation Projects to join our dynamic Strategy and Planning team in our Donor Engagement and Corporate Reputation (DECR) division.

The Strategy and Planning team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by guiding the integrated recruitment planning process for the division and leading strategic transformational projects. These activities help enable the DECR to build a diverse healthy donor base that meets patient needs.

In this role you will be responsible for planning management development and implementation of key division projects or components of major complex projects to support the recruitment and retention of donors. You will work closely with business groups and project teams to achieve project objectives within set timelines and budget. You will also provide coordination and contribute to business case development and project activities while monitoring progress analyzing and reporting on related issues and risks.

Formula for success

  • You will apply your knowledge of the project lifecycle and project management principles such as managing timelines budgets and resources to DECR strategic projects to ensure they are completed on time and within scope.
  • Utilizing your excellent time management skills and ability to drive initiatives forward you will monitor and report on project status to ensure project is proceeding according to timelines meeting targets and expectations.
  • Applying your relationship-building skills you will facilitate collaboration and support from departments leaders and stakeholders ensuring effective change management and project implementation plans are developed and executed.
  • Using your ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively you will actively manage issues that arise during project implementation working with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges and ensure project success.
  • Applying your strong attention to detail and analytical skills you will monitor project performance and outcomes using metrics and reporting tools to track progress against transformation goals.

Desired education and skills

  • Completion of a bachelors degree in project management Business Administration or related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience managing complex projects ideally in a transformation or portfolio management capacity.
  • Change management certification and/or training is an asset.
  • Experience in the healthcare or nonprofit sector is an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered.
