Plans and implements direct and indirect patient nutrition care activities according to the physicians diagnosis across the continuum of care. Acts as a resource for nutrition expertise and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to meet patient care needs. Demonstrates substantial knowledge of current medical nutrition therapy (MNT) current principles of nutrition support nutrition counseling skills teaching and presentation skills. Screens and rescreens patients to identify those at nutrition risk. Provides nutrition care to individual patients through nutrition assessments care planning implementation and evaluation of the interventions and education. Mentors nutrition field experience students certified dietary manager students and other food service support personnel. Exercises independent judgement in performance of job responsibilities.
Bachelors degree in Nutrition or related field. Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Internship or approved training or eligible for licensure in the state of Wisconsin as a Licensed Dietitian(Clinic - must meet requirements for licensure within 3 months of hire; Hospitals - must meet requirements within 6 months of hire). Previous clinical dietetics experience. Advanced degree in nutrition or related field and/or additional nutrition-related specialty certifications are preferred. Commission on Dietetic Registration credential (Clinic - must be registered within 3 months of hire; Hospitals - must be registered within 6 months of hire).
