Incumbents of the Process Metallurgist position have averaged $120000/year (this figure does include bonuses)

Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Responsibilities of the Process Metallurgist may include but are not limited to:
Evaluating process performance and developing process improvement projects based on those evaluations.
Generating and implementing processing procedures to ensure repeatability throughout the facility.
Providing support to the operations maintenance and sales team.
Assisting the quality and operations teams to achieve their goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in a technical field (i.e. Engineering/Metallurgy)
2 years of experience in steelmaking
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Metallurgical or Materials Science Engineering
6 months previous experience in process optimization and new product development
