About our Team
Our team Cloud Infrastructure Engineering and Automation (CIEA) is at the forefront of designing developing and delivering cutting-edge infrastructure automation solutions that power SAPs cloud offerings including Business Technology Platform and Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS). Our team is paving the way for SAPs cross-cloud future by providing a comprehensive infrastructure automation and orchestration framework empowering SAPs lines of businesses and operations teams to seamlessly manage diverse cloud solutions.

The Role
Imagine a world where IT infrastructure manages itself. As a Developer in our team youll be making this vision a reality. You will work on high-impact projects implementing solutions on our automation platform that power the deployment of SAP cloud offerings across multiple cloud environments from hyperscalers to SAPs own data centers. You will enhance and standardize our services by emphasizing highly automated deployment and operations of cloud infrastructure throughout its entire lifecycle.
What you will do:
- Develop cutting-edge prototypes: Design and develop innovative solutions that bridge our automation tools with public IaaS providers enabling seamless deployment of infrastructure and services.
- Drive solutions to production: Take ownership of transforming ideas into production-ready solutions ensuring scalability reliability and integration with existing operational processes.
- Champion knowledge sharing: Conduct knowledge transfer sessions empowering the team to effectively manage and utilize the solutions we build.
- Shape the future of automation: Contribute to the development of a truly no-touch IT infrastructure landscape leveraging automation and AI to manage cloud infrastructure at scale.
- Ensure business continuity: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and maintain up-to-date documentation throughout the development lifecycle

Experience / Role Requirements
Were looking for a developer with a strong foundation in software engineering automation and cloud-native technologies. You should bring a proactive mindset a passion for clean code and the ability to thrive in a collaborative agile environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field (Masters preferred).
- 37 years of professional experience in software development with a strong grasp of object-oriented programming principles.
- Proven experience designing and developing distributed systems with a focus on modern web application architecture.
Technical Skills & Proficiencies:
- Programming Languages: Mastery of Perl Python and JavaScript with the ability to write clean maintainable and efficient code.
- Development Processes: Familiarity with agile frameworks (e.g. Scrum Kanban) and iterative development practices.
- Version Control & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or GitLab.
- Software Architecture: Solid understanding of architectural styles and design patterns including modular and service-oriented architectures.
- Web Services: Proficient in developing and integrating RESTful APIs with knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS protocols OpenAPI and Swagger specifications.
- Cloud-Native Technologies: Experience with microservices architecture containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Quality Engineering: Familiarity with quality control and assurance methodologies including test strategy design and implementation across unit integration system functional non-functional and regression testing.
- Operating Systems: Proficient in Linux environments; Windows knowledge is a plus.
Additional Skills:
- Strong analytical and logical thinking with a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality reliable solutions.
- Good communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in international and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in English both spoken and written.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Amazon Web Services (AWS) Microsoft Azure or Alibaba Cloud.
- Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure services (e.g. DNS LDAP NTP Mail) and network protocols (e.g. IPv4/6 VPN Proxies)
