Were seeking someone to join our team as (Vice President) an exceptional senior Tech Lead to join our team to steer development of low latency high-throughput software infrastructure for algorithmic trading. Were a group of architects experienced engineers working on some of the most challenging projects in the industry: low-level performance optimizations highly available distributed systems messaging formats transport protocols and more. The code we write trades billions of dollars daily and is directly responsible for the success of the firms electronic trading offering

InstitutionalSecuritiesTechnology

Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. ISTs clients include Fixed Income Equities Commodities Investment Banking Research Prime Brokerage and Global Capital Markets.

ALGO (Algorithmic Trading Client Connectivity & Market Data)

Algorithmic Trading Client Connectivity and Market Data (ALGO) is responsible for the infrastructure and application layers enabling the Firms Sales & Trading platforms across Equity FX and Rates with advanced execution and quoting automation connectivity and messaging capabilities. Designs develops and deploys the firms market leading ultra-low latency e-trading platform Enables the Firms Sales & Trading platforms across Equity Fixed Income FX and Commodities via advanced execution connectivity analytics and messaging capabilities as well as comprehensive trading risk systems and application infrastructure

What youll do in the role:

About you
Youre a highly motivated individual with a track record of delivering sophisticated yet pragmatic and easy to use solutions. As part of our engineering leadership you will be responsible for building and mentoring a highly productive team of engineers tasked with delivering next generation state of the art post trade capture and reporting platform. You are hands on and lead by example setting standards for what good looks like and inspire people around you to strive for delivering technical excellence and high-quality solutions.
You take full ownership of your projects and you realize your job doesnt end when your changes are merged. We work alongside our partners from Algo Trading group to ensure our software runs smoothly in production. You are passionate about computer science and software engineering - you enjoy learning new algorithms and keep up with the latest industry trends. If the prospects of optimizing a system bottlenecked on IO to achieve 10x speedup and designing interfaces that other engineers will build on sound exciting youll be a great fit!

Key responsibilities:
Design develop and optimize high-throughput low-latency post trade capture and reporting infrastructure for algorithmic trading
Take full ownership of projects from inception to deployment ensuring end-to-end product delivery
Troubleshoot and debug complex issues to ensure the stability and reliability of trading systems
Create a positive environment to foster talent and help junior/mid-level engineers establish roots and thrive in a fast-moving environment.

What youll bring to the role:

Requirements:
At least 6 years relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
Extensive experience with Core Java and related technologies like JPA
Experience managing and running a team of high caliber engineers to deliver enterprise grade software infrastructure solutions
Knowledge of other programming languages such as Python and C is desirable however optional
Knowledge of or keen interest in learning about: OS internals networking CPU architectures
Experience with high-performance computing multi-threading and distributed systems
Great problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals including algorithms data structures and software design principles
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
