GENERAL FUNCTION:
The role of the optical lab technician is to operate a finishing lab including the transmission of lab orders edging and insertion of lenses troubleshooting inventory control and maintenance.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manufacturing of eyewear
Ordering products
Data entry into an EMR system
Preparing product for inventory
Maintenance and lab upkeep
Other duties as assigned by the Lab Manager
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Verify prescriptions
- Operate edging equipment
- Mark up and layout prescription lenses
- Ansi standards.
- One year of lab experience preferred
- Excellent customer service and phone skills
- Ability to present and implement decisive and creative solutions to opportunities that drive business growth.
- Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed patient expectations
- Attention to detail and follow-up.
- Ability to manage priorities through adaptability and flexibility.
- Willingness to take calculated risks.
- Experience with computers and software literacy
- State licenseABO certifiedor certification by a nationally-recognizedopticianaryassociation as an optician is preferred but not required.
