GENERAL FUNCTION:

The role of the optical lab technician is to operate a finishing lab including the transmission of lab orders edging and insertion of lenses troubleshooting inventory control and maintenance.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manufacturing of eyewear

  • Ordering products

  • Data entry into an EMR system

  • Preparing product for inventory

  • Maintenance and lab upkeep

  • Other duties as assigned by the Lab Manager

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Verify prescriptions
  • Operate edging equipment
  • Mark up and layout prescription lenses
  • Ansi standards.
  • One year of lab experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service and phone skills
  • Ability to present and implement decisive and creative solutions to opportunities that drive business growth.
  • Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed patient expectations
  • Attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Ability to manage priorities through adaptability and flexibility.
  • Willingness to take calculated risks.
  • Experience with computers and software literacy
  • State licenseABO certifiedor certification by a nationally-recognizedopticianaryassociation as an optician is preferred but not required.
