Job Description

Student Worker - MarComm Brand & Story Intern

Number of Openings: 1

Purpose/Objective of the Role:

The Department of Marketing and Communications (MarComm) is seeking a highly creative organized and detail-oriented undergraduate student to join our team as a student intern. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing managing multiple projects and supporting creative and administrative work in a fast-paced environment. The intern will gain meaningful experience at the intersection of media relations strategic communication and project coordination within higher education.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the VP of MarComm with the development and execution of communication materials for the OWUMagazine.
  • Write and edit content for a variety of platforms including website updates event materials promotional content and internal communications.
  • Support departmental staff with event planning logistics and/or promotion.
  • Conduct outreach to student organizations and campus partners to support Marketing & Communications initiatives.
  • Maintain organized records of content project timelines and communications efforts.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Currently enrolled OWU undergraduate student in good academic standing.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
  • Interest in communications marketing PR journalism or higher education administration.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with digital tools such as Canva content management systems and social media platforms is a plus.
