Student WorkerJob Description
The Student Hourly Assistant TV News Director under general supervision will lead the news staff in researching and producing the news for the Panther News Network broadcast Monday through Thursday.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and approve all stories for the Panther News Network.
- Supervise a team of news writers reporters and anchors to produce the news four days a week.
- Coordinate camera teams for field reporting.
- Assign interviews to reporters and anchors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Presently enrolled for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
- Must be in academic good standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
- No prior experience necessary
- For work eligibility during a summer term a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Communications Major
- Junior or Senior classification
- Completed Broadcast Writing class in Communications Program
- News room production experience
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional writing skills
- Ability to supervise news team members interns and volunteers
