Purpose/Objective of the Role:
Bishop Way Peer Educators are passionate about empowering their peers to find balance in their wellness and promote wellness initiatives on campus.
The peer education program focuses on the 5 dimensions of wellness supports others in responsible decision making and role models the Bishop Way to encourage campus-wide change for wellness and prevention.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Facilitate prevention education workshops and presentations
- Plan coordinate and execute Bishop Way signature programs
- Create social norming marketing and other Bishop Way advertising materials to educate and inform the OWU community about Bishop Way programs and resources
- Attend various training sessions to gain knowledge to share with OWU community (Mental Health First Aid QPR CHOICES One Love etc.)
Qualifications/Skills:
- Interest in promoting wellness education and prevention programming for the Ohio Wesleyan community
- 2.5 minimum GPA
- Must be in good standing with the Office of Student Integrity and Community Standards
- Participate in Bishop Way Peer Educator training course (.25 Credit Hours)
Potential Future Career Benefit:
- Professional communication skills both verbal and written
- Experience working on a team and collaborating with on and off campus partners
- Event planning experience
