Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Cybersecurity Engineering Intern. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Cybersecurity Engineering with a focus on the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) Process. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience with the RMF process used throughout the DoD. Key Responsibilities:
- Support Cybersecurity Requirements: Collaborate with ISSEs to identify protection needs for systems software and networks. Document security controls/requirements for inclusion in the system requirements specifications.
- Support Cybersecurity Design: Assist system engineers in overarching system design with a focus on cybersecurity.
- Support Creation of Cybersecurity Body of Evidence: Create and review System Security Plans (SSPs) System/Security Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Network and Dataflow Drawings.
- Support Cybersecurity Verification/Test: Verify security control implementation through development and execution of Cybersecurity Test Plans/Procedures and use of System Scanning Tools.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program in a related field (e.g. Engineering Computer Science or a related discipline).
Preferred Skills:
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
