The Opportunity:

As the Research Study Coordinator you will provide professional-level coordination within Promoting Research Initiatives in Substance Use and Mental Health (PRISM) Collaborative.

This is an exciting position where you will support community-driven and Tribal/Community Based Participatory Research (T/CBPR) projects focused on improving addiction treatment with American Indian and Alaska Native communities throughout the United States. A culturally relevant approach will be utilized in the completion of all job duties.

Your work will include all phases of the T/CBPRprocess from meeting with communities to identify research priorities through co-development of dissemination materials. Research coordination activities include typical activities related to project management and T/CBPRsuch as human subjects and Tribal approval applications community meetings participate in project study design and implementation dissemination of study results and participate inPRISMResearch Operations Team activities.

You will manage multiple projects across teams data activities develop data management protocols perform data collection co-author manuscripts for publication and present research data and participation statistics.

Additionally you will support our teams work focused on providing training and technical assistance to Tribes and American Indian Alaska Native Serving Organizations who are conducting community-prioritized research to reduce the burden of opioids stimulants and pain to improve well-being. Your work will be part of the National Institute on Drug Abuses Native Collective Research Effort to Enhance Wellness.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary:
Research Study Coordinator 1: $3581 - $4771 Range 40 Step A-M
Research Study Coordinator 2: $3840 - $5137 Range 43 Step A-M

Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. Step M is typically a longevity step.

In accordance with
RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

Research Study Coordinator 1

Two years of college level course work in a relevant academic areaANDtwo years of experience as a Research Study Assistant OR equivalent education/experience.

Research Study Coordinator 2

A Bachelors degree in a relevant academic areaANDtwo years of experience as a Research Study Coordinator OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements for both levels of position:

  • Ability to work virtually and travel for work purposes.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Word Excel and Access.

  • Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects.

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as scheduled with advanced notice to meet study needs.

  • Must have or be able to obtain by time of hire a valid drivers license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels of position:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in working with Tribes and American Indian/Alaska Native Serving Organizations.

  • Experience working in a research environment.

  • Ability to manage large teams and networks virtually.

  • Excellent proofreading skills and a strong attention to detail.
