Job Description

Student Worker - Sagan ARC Social Media Assistant

Number of Openings: 1

Purpose/Objective of the Role:

The Social Media Assistant will focus on managing and promoting the Sagan ARCs presence on various social media platforms. This role involves creating engaging content implementing social media strategies through an equity and access lens and fostering meaningful online interactions to enhance awareness and engagement with ARC services.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Sagan ARCs social media accounts including Instagram and Snapchat.
  • Create and curate content relevant to academic support learning strategies and promoting ARC services to the OWU student population.
  • Schedule and post content regularly ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Monitor social media trends and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Promote ARC events resources and services through social media channels.
  • Collaborate with ARC staff to gather content ideas and information for social media posts.
  • Ensure content is accurate engaging and aligned with the ARCs brand and messaging.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the beginning of the semester messaging to students.
  • Assist with end of semester closing of the office and messaging to students over the break.
  • Research any fun themed days/holidays that can be used in regular messaging.
  • Assist with the planning and messaging of Sagan ARC events geared towards students.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Currently enrolled as a student at OWU.
  • Strong knowledge of various social media platforms and their functionalities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging social media content.
  • Knowledge orinterest in academic support services and student engagement is desirable.
