Job Summary:The College Research Coordinator II assists researchers and staff within a department unit or college with proposal preparation and review proposal budget development award administration and related activities under moderate supervision. Provides guidance on compliance with Federal State and Local government regulations related to pre-award and/or post-award sponsored project activities. Participates in training as required by the Office for Research & Economic Development and serves as a liaison for the college to ORED.
Additional Department Summary:Works closely with the Director faculty investigators and central university offices to support a growing portfolio of sponsored research activity. Oversees the full grant life cycle from proposal preparation and submission through post-award management compliance monitoring and project closeout. Provides oversight of research administration staff to ensure consistent and accurate financial reporting effective budget management and adherence to sponsor and university policies. Supports strategic initiatives and special projects to strengthen the Centers research infrastructure and capacity.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and two (2) years of grant and/or contract administration experience; OR masters degree.
Skills and Knowledge:Strong organizational time-management and analytical skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems. Ability to communicate effectively with faculty staff administrators and external sponsors. Capacity to balance multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Sound judgment in interpreting policies and advising faculty on compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with The University of Alabama systems (e.g. OSP C&G Concur ePA). Experience leading special projects process improvements or strategic initiatives in research administration.
