Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services (DVHHS) is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill a full-time position for an Accounting Technician. The work in this position performs a variety of agency or fiscal host accounting functions in a multi-county health and human services agency including accounts payable accounts receivable claiming and payroll. Functions are carried out utilizing agency or State accounting or claiming systems.
Minimum qualifications of education and experience for this position: This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience involving a combination of office support and bookkeeping responsibilities or Completion of college coursework vocational school or business school in accounting may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the experience involving a combination of office support and bookkeeping responsibilities.

This is a full time non-exempt position working 40 hours per week with a full benefit package which includes Public Employee Retirement pension.
This position is classified in Grade 9 of the DVHHS Compensation Plan with a hiring range of $22.69 - $29.44 per hour dependent upon the credentials of the successful candidate.
In order to ensure the safety of citizens employees and property DVHHS has adopted a drug and alcohol testing policy which applies to all candidates being considered for employment with DVHHS. A Drug and Alcohol test must be completed within 24 hours of all contingent verbal offers of employment unless alternate scheduling arrangements are approved by Human Resources office.
