Description of Work
- We are looking for candidates who have a passion for helping at-risk youth.We areWorking Together to Strengthen North Carolinas Youth and Families!This position is located at Cabarrus Youth Development Center a secure facility in Concord NC (Cabarrus County) with an overall mission to provide committed juveniles with a safe secure environment that fosters healthy decision-making and personal responsibility.
The primary purpose of this position is to serves as a core member of interdisciplinary treatment team. As a clinical practitioner the social worker independently exercises clinical judgment and uses theory to formulate a psychosocial assessment treatment modality and discharge plan. Treatment interventions include individual and family therapies to identify deficits and remedies in complex cases such as suicide attempts depression abuse mania aggression noncompliance personality disorders dual diagnosis violence and substance abuse. The social workers use of a holistic approach ensures patient and familys input into planning and treatment. The social worker coordinates and develops a discharge plan through an integrated approach with team patient system and community agencies. The clinical social worker also serves as the community liaison for the unit and may become involved in specific legal aspects of the patients care such as involuntary commitment hearings hearings etc. The unpredictable nature of psychiatric patients requires the clinical worker to exercise flexibility and quick decision-making skills in order to assess various situations and plan or intervene as this role work is performed with considerable independence but also requires teamwork and collaboration. Some evening or weekend work will be required to meet family and patient needs.
*Valid North Carolina drivers license is required for this position.
*Must successfully complete Criminal Justice Certification requirements.
*As a condition for continued employment: Must successfully pass all required parts of CPIs Non-Violent Crisis Intervention course and remain CPR certified
Work Schedule:This is a full-time position. - Demonstrated experience in providing effective case management including crisis management.
- Demonstrated experience working with interdisciplinary treatment teams within the system of care expectations.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Masters degree from an appropriately accredited school of social work.
Licensure is required from NC SW Certification and Licensure Board. Necessary Special Qualification Requirements - One must fulfill all requirements for Licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.Necessary Special Qualification:
Applicants for positions designated as Juvenile Justice Officers are subject to and must meet the hiring and training standards established by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission as defined in Title 12 Chapter 9 of the NC Administrative Code by the statutory authority of GS 17C.Selected applicant must attend and successfully complete and pass the Juvenile Justice Officer Basic Training certification program. The certification requires four weeks to complete and is comprised of classroom and physically demanding training.
