Job Description Summary:
The Clinical Nurse Manager leads the implementation of change initiatives across all MHMN sites through their experience in performance improvement methodologies. Partnering with MHMN leaders this role assesses and monitors clinical practice sites and collaborates with governing affiliates to maintain compliance with standards and licensing/regulations for ambulatory partnership with the Director of Clinical Excellence together this role acts as a liaison between clinic leaders providers senior management and UCSF oversight groups. This role assists in developing process improvements and the prioritization of clinical initiatives. To ensure the delivery of clinically regulated high-quality safe and efficient patient care the Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for implementing orientation and onboarding activities oversight of sterilization and reprocessing functions and helping develop all clinical staff with the assistance of clinical training direct reports. Areas of responsibility include clinical licensing/practice regulations and best practices EMR policy/protocol creation and implementation clinical training performance improvement activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Manages the implementation of performance improvement activities across the various clinic sites.
- Optimizes patient care activities and participates in practice or Network performance improvement projects.
- Oversees the operations of the clinical trainer team including practice assessment Network-wide orientation and onboarding activities and regulatory/accreditation site preparation.
- Participates in the assessment of clinic operational workflows to ensure quality care patient safety and compliance with regulations.
- Leads the creation development implementation and monitoring of initiatives to maximize clinical offerings and best-in-class clinical staff. Including high focus on point-of-care testing and clinical competencies.
- Allocates staffing resources and fiscal and administrative operations within the clinical training team.
- Represents assigned team on committees contributing to program development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Develops staff in collaborative decision enhancing communication and improving team functions and accountabilities.
- Collaborates with Network leaders to develop healthcare practice standards for service improvements.
- Manages team cost-effectively planning and being accountable for annual operative and capital budgets determining staffing for clinical training needs and monitoring team performance.
- Responsible for employee recruitment performance evaluation progressive discipline and staff development fostering a culture of teamwork.
- Keeps abreast of and implements new or changing patient care standards policies procedures and programs.
- Collaborates with physicians providing input on marketing facilities and fiscal planning and drafting business plans for quality improvements
Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of operations in ambulatory setting and how the departments process/workflow impacts other areas operation throughout the Network.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all applicable state federal state licensing and other local regulations as they relate to ambulatory settings is required.
- Ability to form relationships with physicians and medical directors as well as other key company contributors.
- Proven leadership skills including team building and coaching/mentoring with the ability to motivate and engage others.
- In-depth understanding of operations and clinical workflows.
- Demonstrates tactical and analytical thinking and planning skills and is able to develop a plan to accomplish objectives identify obstacles and resolve operational issues.

- Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge/experience with electronic medical records or practice management systems. Use of EPIC/APeX software a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing required
- Sufficient education to obtain a valid California RN License
License & Certifications:
- Registered Nurse License - The California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
Experience:
- 5 plus years supervisory and/or management experience in a complex clinic specialty healthcare setting including but not limited to Quality metrics performance improvement initiatives budgets fiscal management and revenue cycle.
