Catholic Charities of Acadiana is seeking a Sigur Client Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for guests at the Sigur Center. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate organized and skilled at creating a welcoming environment. The coordinator ensures that all visitors are treated with dignity and respect while connecting them to appropriate services managing front desk operations and supporting hospitality. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist guests with professionalism warmth and empathy.
- Answer phones and in-person inquiries; provide information about services and program hours.
- Maintain a safe organized and welcoming front lobby and restroom area.
- Distribute snacks drinks and hospitality items to guests.
- Track visitor activity and support data collection for client services.
- Assist with SNAP applications and renewals ensuring compliance with program rules.
- Provide referrals to internal programs or external community resources.
- Collaborate with staff to meet client needs and ensure smooth operations.
- Demonstrate trauma-informed care and de-escalation when needed.
- Contribute to team meetings maintain shared spaces and support hospitality supplies.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; additional administrative or customer service training preferred.
- At least 12 years of experience in receptionist front desk hospitality or customer service roles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comfortable engaging with individuals in crisis or experiencing homelessness.
- Ability to remain calm courteous and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/French Creole) a plus.
- Familiarity with social services particularly SNAP is helpful but not required.
- Work is performed in a busy shelter or resource center with frequent client interaction.
- Requires flexibility in schedule including occasional early mornings evenings or emergency hours as needed.
