Job Description
Job Title: Locum Physician - Neurology
Join a reputable medical center in Portsmouth Virginia renowned for delivering exceptional healthcare services. This opportunity offers locum coverage for neurology services providing you the chance to work in a supportive clinic and hospital environment while collaborating with fellow neurologists. Open dates span from October to November ensuring flexibility and a diverse work experience in a vibrant city.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide neurology consultations and care within a clinic/hospital setting.
- Maintain an 8am-5pm schedule with on-call responsibilities from 5pm-8am including weekend coverage.
- Evaluate and treat adult patients managing a caseload of approximately 8 outpatient and 3 inpatient patients daily.
- Conduct required neurology procedures such as EEG EMG and brain death exams.
- Utilize Epic/Connect Care for documentation and collaborate with office staff including LPNs and a Medical Assistant.
- Interpret lab results and provide comprehensive patient evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Neurology (Required).
- BLS Certification (Required).
- Active Virginia medical license and DEA (Required at time of submission no exceptions).
- COVID Vaccination (Preferred).
- Flu Vaccination (Required at time of credentialing).
- COI coverage of $2.7M/$8.1M (if requested by the facility).
License & Certification Requirements:
- Active Virginia medical license.
- DEA registration in Virginia.
- Board certification in Neurology.
- BLS certification.
