Join our Information Technology Bureau

The Information Technology Bureau Enterprise Infrastructure Team is seeking a dedicated and skilled Security Engineer to join our team of security professionals. The Security Engineer is a member of the Security team which requires hands-on working knowledge of Security systems and applications to include implementation configuration management and troubleshooting of enterprise firewalls antivirus intrusion detection systems patch management web content and email security filtering. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding our enterprise systems and ensuring the integrity of our digital infrastructure.

As a member of the Enterprise Infrastructure Team the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining security measures across a broad range of technologies Internet of Things (IoT) and Operational Technology (OT) protections.

The District supports employees who prefer flexible schedule or a remote work schedule so that they can enjoy their time outside of the District through work-life role is considered hybrid which means the employee will be required to come on-site for periodic meetings and work a portion of their time remotely (must live in Florida). Compensation:

Infrastructure Administrator 2 $53589.00 - $72931.50
Infrastructure Administrator 3 $61254.00 - $84422.50
Infrastructure Administrator 4 $66180.00 - $91203.50

Thestartingsalary range for theInfrastructure Administratorpositionreflects theminimum to 50% of the compensation. The starting salary will be based on the education and experience of the successful candidate. The District conducts annual performance evaluations that may award applicable pay increases based on positive employee performance.

Essential Functions

  • Installation configuration and management of Enterprise firewalls and related components
  • Installation configuration and management of antivirus software deployed on servers and personal computers
  • Configuration and management of web content and email security filtering system
  • Participates in designing configuring and testing WAN and LAN network configurations as it relates to network security systems
  • Configures and managers mobility access for staff working remotely
  • Develops and maintains Network Security Systems documentation
  • Participates in Disaster Recovery exercises
  • Manages Internal Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS) Infrastructure
  • Manages External Certificate Management Service
  • Manages Security Incident and Event Management System (SIEM) to provide feedback and troubleshoot and analyze potential security incidents and events
  • Manages daily workload and projects within online IT Service Management (ITSM) application
  • Follows ITIL Change Management process

Working Conditions

Employee works in a standard office environment. Occasional travel usually during the workday is required. Performs continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. Occasionally lifts and carries objects up to 10 pounds. Occasionally requires bending and reaching above shoulder level. Possible travel to other offices. Employeemaybe subject to call-in outside of regularly scheduled work hours or required to be on call including on nights weekends or holidays to respond to emergency management activities or other incidents requiring rapid response in support of District operations.

Required Credentials for Security Engineer

Infrastructure Administrator 2

  • Associates degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Systems Information Systems or related field and two (2) years of related work experience. (Equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted)
  • Valid drivers license

Infrastructure Administrator 3

    • Bachelors degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Systems Information Systems or related field and four (4) years of related work experience. (Equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted)
    • Valid drivers license

      Infrastructure Administrator 4

      • Bachelors degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Systems Information Systems or related field and six (6) years of related work experience. (Equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted)
      • Valid drivers license

          Preferred Credentials for Security Engineer

          • Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Systems Information Systems or related field

          Application Process

          The District will determine eligibility for employment solely from the information provided on a District employment application. All applicants are required to complete in full the District employment application. Incomplete applications will not be considered. A resume will not be considered as a substitute for the required District application for the purpose of qualification. Applicants who are within 30 days of graduation if selected are not allowed to start until all minimum qualifications are met. This position is also eligible for relocation reimbursement limited to moving expenses upon meeting mileage and program criteria.

          Additional Details

          This position is typically scheduled to work 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. This position is based out of the Brooksville FL office however remote/hybrid work is available (must live in Florida). This position is eligible for compensatory time for hours worked over 40 hours in a week.

          Travel Required

          travel using District vehicle within Districts coverage area.
