Assistant or Associate Professor Applied Engineering
Jacksonville State Universitys College of Business and Industry invites applications for a tenure track position for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Applied Engineering.
The Department of Applied Engineering invites applications for a 9-month Assistant/Associate Professor tenure-track candidate who will contribute to our growing Applied Manufacturing Engineering program. The positions focus is on high quality teaching and academic research. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education display strong communication skills and be able to work well with students faculty and staff.
The successful candidate will teach courses in the Applied Manufacturing Engineering core and the Manufacturing Management concentration. The successful candidate will provide instruction utilizing multiple teaching formats to include classroom instruction online instruction and laboratory instruction. Other responsibilities include program assessment developing industry partnerships professional development and university/department service.
The position has an anticipated start date of January 2 2026.
Requirements
Assistant Professor: Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. (completed or ABD) in Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related field. Fresh Ph.D. and ABD candidates are eligible. University-level teaching experience and applicable industrial experience are considered added advantages.
Associate Professor: A Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related field is required. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of university-level teaching or relevant industry experience an impactful record of peer-reviewed publications and notable achievements in their research expertise.

Primary Teaching Responsibilities:
The primary teaching responsibility will be to teach and develop courses in the following areas:
Ideal candidates will have industrial experience and be able to bring real-world experience and knowledge to the Applied Manufacturing Engineering classrooms. The department has a strong relationship with local industry and an emphasis will be placed on blending science technology applied engineering and mathematical concepts into applied manufacturing courses.
The teaching load is 9 to 12 credit hours per semester in fall and spring with a possible summer course overload. Participation in curriculum development professional organizations undergraduate student mentoring applied research and activities within the department are required.
