There is currently one permanent / whole time position within an agreed current location in the HSE Dublin and Midlands region.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Clinical Placement Coordinator from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
Purpose of post:
The purpose of the Clinical Placement Coordinator (CPC) post is to guide and support the undergraduate nursing students during their various supernumerary and internship clinical placements necessary as part of the BSc Nursing Programme(s).
The CPC must ensure that all clinical areas across the agreed sites meet NMBIs regulatory requirements and standards as approved clinical learning environments. The CPC will provide a quality educational and supportive service to nursing students/staff on undergraduate nursing training programmes.
The CPC will also ensure the organisation and provision of clinical learning supports for all students across the clinical learning environments and involvement in practice development projects as required.

Eligibility Criteria - Qualifications and/ or experience:
1. Statutory Registration Professional Qualifications Experience etc
(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
(i) Be a registered nurse/midwife on the active Register of Nurses or Midwives held by An Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hEireann (Nursing and MidwiferyBoard of Ireland) or be eligible to be so registered.
AND
(ii) Be registered in a Division of the register in which the application is being made.
OR
In exceptional circumstances which will be assessed on a case by case basis be registered in another Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives
AND
(iii) Have successfully completed post registration programme of study as certified by the education provider which verifies that the applicant has achieved a Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) National Framework of Qualifications NFQ) major academic award at a minimum of a Level 8 (60 ECTS) or higher relevant to the area of education or a health related subject of care prior to application.
OR
Can provide written evidence from the Higher Education Institute that they have achieved the number of 60 ECTs credits equivalent to a minimum of a Level 8 or higher standard relevant to the area of education or a health related subject of care prior to application.
AND
(iv) Have a minimum of 5 years post registration full time experience or an aggregate of 5 years full time experience in the division of the register in which the application is being made of which 2 years must be in a practice learning environment
AND
(v) Have completed a Teaching and Assessing or a Preceptorship in Practice course programme or module
AND
(vi) Have the clinical managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
AND
(vii) Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development
AND
(viii) Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her Professional responsibility within his/her scope of practice
AND
(b)Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical professional and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
2. Annual Registration
(i) Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the appropriate/relevant Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann) for the role
AND
(ii) Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
