Group Communications (GC) is responsible for creating a lasting positive image of Roche and are representing the companys voice on a Group level: We communicate Roches strategy and how we deliver on our purpose of Doing now what patients need next to Roche colleagues and external audiences. We drive integrated and global campaigns and provide platforms for communications business partners as well as our affiliates to engage with audiences. We contribute to building trust of key stakeholders to managing Roches brand and reputation and to building a favourable environment for our business. The Brand & Digital Experience Centre of Excellence (CoE) is where creativity insight and technology come together to shape how the world experiences Roche. Our mission is to turn brand into experience delivering powerful storytelling seamless digital platforms and campaigns that build trust inspire connection and advance health. Bringing together expertise across brand governance creative intelligence channels and campaigning we enable Roche to communicate with clarity and impact helping our stakeholders see feel and believe in our contribution to peoples lives.
As the Head of Brand & Governance you will be the global guardian of Roches brand and digital governance frameworks. This senior leadership role is responsible for setting the strategic guardrails of the masterbrand while ensuring our digital channels assets and publishing practices are governed with clarity compliance and accessibility.
You will oversee the brand system - architecture identity guidelines - and lead governance processes across platforms accessibility and asset lifecycle management. You will be a member of the Brand Council ensuring that brand decisions are transparent data-driven and enable both control and creativity. You will report to the Head of Brand & Digital Experience and serve as a member of the CoE leadership team.
Define and steward the Roche masterbrand globally.
Support the overarching definition of Roches brand strategy and positioning in collaboration with the Reputation Team.
Lead the brand architecture and naming system ensuring simplicity and coherence across divisions products and initiatives.
Own and evolve the enterprise tone of voice and visual identity system foundations.
Oversee the creation and updating of brand guidelines policies and standards ensuring adoption across affiliates and agencies.
Govern exceptions and waivers through the Brand Council and act as co-chair for its decision-making process.
Drive brand adoption and training programmes globally supporting affiliates and partners to apply the brand effectively.
Establish and enforce co-branding and partnership rules for alliances sponsorships and influencer engagements.
Ensure compliance and consistency through formal review gates audits and advisory support.
Lead Roches digital governance framework defining standards for channel usage publishing and platform compliance.
Drive streamlining of the digital landscape consolidating and cleaning up platforms for efficiency and compliance.
Oversee the Digital Asset Management (DAM) lifecycle - taxonomy metadata rights ingestion and retirement.
Provide agency governance oversight ensuring partners adhere to Roches brand and governance standards.
Collaborate with our Intelligence Team to monitor brand health consistency and adoption across geographies.
You are a strategic brand and governance leader with a proven track record in managing global identity systems and digital standards. You bring:
10 years of experience in brand management corporate communications and/or digital governance in a complex global environment.
5 years of leadership experience including leading diverse and multicultural teams.
Deep expertise in brand strategy governance and architecture with the ability to simplify complexity into clear systems.
Strong understanding of visual identity systems (logos grids typography imagery motion) and their role in building equity.
Experience designing and running digital governance frameworks policies compliance accessibility and asset lifecycle management.
Track record of driving brand adoption across large complex organisations and global partner networks.
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to align senior stakeholders and inspire confidence.
Fluency in English (written and spoken); other languages are an advantage.
Location: Basel is the primary location. Additional locations may be considered at the hiring managers discretion.
