Position Summary:
The Classified Material Warehouse Specialist Lead is responsible for overseeing the secure storage handling packaging and distribution of classified and sensitive materials within a DLA-operated Government Distribution facility. This role ensures compliance with all Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and federal regulations related to classified and controlled materials. The Lead provides daily supervision training and operational oversight of warehouse specialists to maintain mission readiness and support global military logistics requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team in the secure handling storage packaging and shipment of classified and sensitive materials.
- Ensure strict compliance with DoD DLA and federal security regulations regarding classified material accountability safeguarding and dissemination.
- Maintain accurate records documentation and accountability logs for classified materials in accordance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Oversee receipt inspection packaging (including hazardous and classified packaging standards) and distribution of classified items.
- Conduct regular audits inventories and inspections to ensure 100% accountability and compliance.
- Serve as primary liaison with security officers government representatives and compliance personnel regarding classified material handling.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff on security procedures safety standards and operational best practices.
- Monitor warehouse operations to ensure adherence to safety policies OSHA standards and DLA performance requirements.
- Support mission readiness by coordinating with logistics supply chain and transportation teams to meet deadlines and operational objectives.
- Identify examine classify accept reject and dispose of material as per DLA regulations. Coordinate the receipt and shipment of hazardous materials ensure proper packaging documentation and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Operate specialized equipment like forklifts material handling equipment and other tools required for handling hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate logs records and reports related to hazardous materials inventory and safety procedures.
- Effectively communicate with team members supervisors and other departments regarding hazardous material management safety procedures and any issues or concerns.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- HAZMAT Certification
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Active Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain within 45 days).
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelors degree in logistics supply chain or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of warehouse or logistics experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Experience working with classified materials and knowledge of DoD/DLA security protocols preferred.
- Familiarity with automated logistics and warehouse management systems (e.g. DSS LMP SAP or equivalent).
- Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and work in warehouse/industrial environments.
- Certification in HAZMAT packaging forklift operation or other warehouse credentials desirable.
