The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer Test & Verification (Associate or Experienced) to support our P-8A Mission Systems Software team located in Kent Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.

As a Software Test Engineer you will work with a team in a casual but professional environment where there is long term potential for career growth. The optimal candidate works well with a team has great communication skills and is a self-starter. The selected team member enjoys working collaboratively with others has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement and is successful working in a multi-contract environment.

Additionally the software test engineer will conduct (with the possibility to lead) the testing of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity supporting software verification in multiple areas such as sensors communications network and weapons. software supports both domestic and international customers and is developed using the Agile software process.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Designs develops and completes test and verification of software products to ensure quality reliability and functionality

  • Partners with stakeholders to review and identify software requirements test objectives test strategies and testability

  • Designs test plans cases and scenarios to meet software requirements and specifications

  • Sets up and configures test environments including hardware software and network configurations to replicate production environments

  • Executes test cases and scenarios to verify functionality performance and safety of software systems identifying and reporting defects issues and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processes

  • Provides test results and feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects issues and potential vulnerabilities

  • Creates documents and maintains test plans procedures cases artifacts metrics and data in accordance with data privacy and security protocols and standards

  • Develops and maintains automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes

  • Performs software project management functions across test and verification activities involving multifunctional teams

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 2 years of experience in either C C or Java

  • 2 years of experience working with Linux / Unix environment

  • 2 years of experience in software testing or software verification

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science

  • Familiarity or experience with Agile software developmentExperience using team collaboration tools including Git JIRA Confluence Artifactory etc.

  • Experience with software/hardware testing

  • Knowledge of mission systems

  • Ability to establish test requirements from supporting documentation test plans internal and external customers

Summary pay range for Experienced Level: $112200 - $151800.
