Qualifications/Expectations
Applicants should possess experience in playing and/or coaching on the high school varsity grassroots or college as a minimum. Previous experience in coaching basketball is required.
Assistant coaches are responsible for supporting head coaches in the day-to-day operation of the program and other program-related duties. These duties can range from drill instruction and execution to video study and analysis. All coaches are expected to demonstrate effective teaching skills relative to sport-specific technique as well as possess the interpersonal skills necessary to maintain effective working relationships with students parents other coaches and administrators.
Experience with Hudl Fast Draw and recruiting highly qualified student athletes is preferred.
Essential responsibilities also include modeling appropriate behavior and following established protocol for injuries. Employees at Mercersburg Academy are required to complete the clearance process mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
