Job Title: Road Superintendent - INTERNAL ONLY

Salary Range: $7401.20 - $9640.79/month
General Position Summary
Plans directs and carries out major programs within the Road Division of the Public Works Department which includes providing for roadway roadside bridge and drainage maintenance and construction. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Essential Functions
The following may not be all inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Identifies plans and schedules road bridge and drainage maintenance and construction projects within the County; ensures the efficient utilization of time equipment and materials.
Conducts routine inspections of roadways roadsides and/or drainage infrastructures; identifies maintenance requirements.
Assigns monitors and evaluates the work of maintenance crews for maintenance and construction projects; assists with problems and provides direction to foremen as needed.
Responds to inquiries and complaints from the public; takes appropriate action as necessary.
Responds to emergencies occurring on County roadways.
Coordinates and consults with utility companies and citizens during projects and for planning purposes.
Plans and implements a safe working environment for Road Division employees; ensures conformance to County operational and safety policies.
Prepares or provides reports and recommendations as requested.
Education Certification & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of five years experience in road maintenance and construction including at least two years in a supervisory capacity; thorough knowledge of road and bridge maintenance; methods techniques and materials required for roadway roadside bridge and drainage construction and maintenance operations.
Oregon Drivers License

This is an hourly non-exempt position with a wage range of $7401.20 - $9640.79 per month. The pay range listed here reflects the FULL pay range for this position for the current fiscalyear. Salary offers are based on the candidates equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.
