Job Summary

Job Summary/Basic Function:	This position is responsible for planning implementing and coordinating research projects. Plans and implements research projects including coordinating the development of project scope goals work plans timelines strategies and assessing progress towards project objectives. Provides researchers with resources in support of the project.
Department Overview:	Ready to lead project teams at Boise State that research some of our worlds biggest questions The Research Project Management Group in the Center for Research and Creative Activity is looking for an enthusiastic detail-oriented project manager to join our growing team of research project managers. Youll work closely with Principal Investigators across campus to manage the programmatic aspects of their funded projects. By managing the operational side of funded projects youll play a vital role in driving research forward efficiently and effectively.
Level Scope:	Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills policies and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.
Essential Functions:	75% of Time the Programs & Projects Coordinator must: Plan manage and support implementation of programs and research activities including faculty development workshops research conferences and research team events. Coordinate reporting documentation and reporting for faculty and research team. Provide campus-wide technical support and assistance for development and research activities. Develop and implement communication and management plans for research teams. Collect and summarize data to inform decision making evaluate program effectiveness or alternatives and to inform program development. Maintain and monitor project plans project schedules work hours project records and timelines. 20% of Time the Programs & Projects Coordinator Coordinate Center Events and assist with Research Project Management Group events. Coordinate Center Educational Workshops. 5% of Time the Programs & Projects Coordinator Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:	Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to think analytically and critically. Experience planning and organizing projects and delegating work. Knowledge of various project management methodologies.
MinimumQualifications:	Bachelors Degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
