Job Position Title: Software and Product Innovation - Quality Engineering - Associate - CS G
Responsibilities:
Ensure product quality by designing and executing functional API and database tests. - Collaborate with product engineering and DevOps to deliver reliable testable features. - Own test planning data setup execution defect management and reporting.
Mandatory skill sets:
Analyze requirements user stories and acceptance criteria; identify testable scenarios and risks. - Design review and execute test cases for web/mobile applications and back-end services. - Perform API testing for REST/GraphQL: request/response validation authentication headers status codes payloads and schema. - Create and manage test data; validate business rules across UI API and DB layers. - Write and run SQL queries to verify data integrity transformations and calculations. - Perform integration testing across services; validate end-to-end flows. - Log clear reproducible defects; drive defect triage and closure with dev/PO. - Track test progress and coverage; deliver test reports and sign-offs. - Participate in sprint ceremonies (planning grooming stand-ups reviews retros). - Support regression smoke/sanity and UAT cycles. - Contribute to test process improvements and best practices. - Optional: contribute to lightweight automation (API/DB/critical flows) as a plus. Should have experience in the below tools: Test management/ALM: Jira/Xray Azure DevOps TestRail (any). API: Postman Swagger/OpenAPI curl; (nice-to-have: Newman REST Assured). DB: MySQL/PostgreSQL/SQL Server/Oracle; client tools (DBeaver SQL Developer pgAdmin). Version control: Git/GitHub/GitLab. Logs/monitoring: browser dev tools Kibana/CloudWatch (nice-to-have).
Preferred skill sets:
Functional testing: test design techniques (boundary value equivalence class decision tables state transitions exploratory). - API testing: REST/GraphQL JSON/XML auth (OAuth 2.0 JWT API keys) status codes contract/schema validation error handling.
- Database testing: strong SQL (joins subqueries aggregations window functions) data reconciliation across systems stored procedures/functions validation. - Test documentation: clear test cases traceability and reporting. - Defect lifecycle and test management. - Understanding of SDLC/STLC Agile/Scrum CI/CD basics.
